Collarbones are go!!

Let me start by saying how pissed off I am at the school my children attend.

Despite my constant telling them that Dash has a broken collarbone, he has repeatedly been injured by irresponsible children. It all came to a head on the 15th November when he was injured resulting in a further breakage to his collarbone which then set him back another 6 weeks or so. A stupid prank resulted in a girl grabbing his shoulder and shaking him vigorously causing further breakage. He had to miss his year 6 camp which he wasnt impressed with at all. I will update later with full info but I have been forced to homeschool him for the last 4 weeks of school as they cant keep him safe. Grrrrrr they just dont give a fuck honestly. Its like its too hard for them.

I vented to a friend about his injury and how I was disgusted at the school and their lack of duty of Care. The principal called me up lat week and chastised me over the phone, telling me I was a bad girl. Im not to speak to the teachers, students or parents!! :0  bugger off i will talk to who I like when I bloody well like. Then she posted this in the newsletter.

Positive School Climate
In many ways we are extremely fortunate to have a dedicated group of parents who willingly give up their
time to help out at our school. This help is invaluable in encouraging a positive school climate which is
conducive to outstanding student success in learning. In recognition and appreciation of our
parent helpers we will be holding a ‘Parent Helper’ morning tea on Wednesday 7 December.
We understand that many parents may not be able to help out with school activities due to work and other
commitments but can support their child and the school in other ways. One of the best ways of supporting your child is to speak positively about your child’s school experiences, their teacher and the school as a whole.
By doing this, our children see that you value their school experience and feel encouraged to reach their
potential. By contrast, speaking negatively about your child’s school experiences, their teacher or the school
as a whole, can have quite a detrimental effect on their learning outcomes and their confidence. I have recently
become aware that there have been instances of negative talk amongst parents, in ear-shot of students,
about our school. With the best interests of the children in mind I ask that we all reconsider our audience when expressing negative views and to think about the impact that such discussions have on our students and
our school climate. By working together, focusing on being positive, we can ensure that ##########
Public School continues to relish our great reputation as the beacon of learning in our community.

Intimidation doesnt go down well with me and I told her so and I think this is her answer.

Needless to say my kids are enrolled elsewhere for next year :)

Blogging

Well this blog started out as a personal blog so i think it will stay that way but I am starting another blog aimed at trialling products and giving my opinion on them i guess as I do a little bit of market research here and there and really enjoy it so i will post the link as soon as I set it up.

Yay Finally

Well its been a few weeks since I've written in here but so much has happened. We found a house and moved in on 3rd September. Its a 3 bedroom but there is so much more room to move around. I have my scrapbooking table set up, the kids have a decent yard and hubby has his yoyo collection setup as well. I have been really busy unpacking and sorting the house out. Getting all the tax stuff done, geez I hate the BAS. Today I finally lodged our personal taxes too. About 3 weeks ago I had a bingle at my local shops. A guy hit my front end so my car was off the road for 2 weeks and had to be sent back because they rushed it. i was not impressed as you would imagine.

Kid news: Poor Dash went to Youth group last Friday night and came home with a broken collarbone, poor kid we spent 6 hours after that sitting in the Childrens Hospital waiting for a doctor to tell us he wasnt sure if it was broken. Hmmm despite the fact that you can see it sticking up he still wasnt sure. I took dash to my local GP Monday morning to get a second opinion and within seconds of seeing him he clarified that it indeed was broken. So he will need a double sling for 4 - 6 weeks.

I'm just not sure

Well I have been looking for a decent rental for a few weeks now and they are all crap, honestly, the prices are exorbitant yet the properties are derelict almost. Most are 3 bedrooms but over the $500 mark. If I had that money dont you think I would buy a bloody house. I need to stay in the area until the end of the school year at least. But then Dash starts high school and we start all over again. We have had a few chats about moving up north to Taree or Port Macquarie. While the idea sounds good I am a worrywart. I worry about work and finances, how we will afford the move how we will afford the rent and everything else. Changing the kids schools again and then having to fork out for all new uniforms etc. Dash is on track to receive a scholarship from his future high school which will cover his first year expenses, eg school fees and uniform, camp etc. Do I risk that? Its not a big deal really but I just cant get my head around all this. I want to settle down somewhere and be happy, I'm obviously not happy here. I wish I had the money to buy my own house to be truthful then things could be so much easier. I have to think of Diego and Punky as well, they need to be in school and I dont want to uproot them in the middle of the year or stage either.. aarrgghhh brain explosion. I really need to think clearly.

Moving house

Came home to boxes and more boxes. See the thing is there we have to move. We have until October 4th but the sooner we get out of here the better. We currently live in a rundown fibro house. The worst house on the best block. Anyway the owners want to build duplexes here which will please the neighbour to no end. LOL. Have been looking at rentals and amazingly there is nothing near big enough for us 6 and cats to fit in. 3 bedroom homes could work if they were spaced out a bit but most of them are in a little box where noone has room to move let alone breathe. If I actually found a decent house it has no yard. Can you imagine having 4 kids cooped up indoors a lot. I assure you it would drive me and them absolutely bonkers. So the hunt is on for a decently priced 3 or preferably 4 bedroom house within a reasonable financial amount that actually has a bath, a yard and a working kitchen. Sorry have had a few bad experiences with one or the other of those before. Then the next question is do we stay local or move to a nearby suburb. I need to keep the kids at their current school until December when Dash (aka Child 1) finishes primary school. Diego (Child 2) and  Punky (child 3) will more than likely be changing schools anyway and Hagar (Child 4) is too young for school yet. Ahh decisions decisions!

Sundayitis

Welcome to Sunday, the day where nearly every week we sit and ponder what we shall do for the day. Where is the local market today? Is there anything exciting happening we should know about?
There is a new market not far from us that has been advertised so we thought we would go check it out. What a big disappointment that was. I guess I should have known that a new market was still getting up on its feet so will reserve any further judgement until it has time to attract potential marketeers. We then travelled to the inner city where we happened upon a market ion a local school. Geez there are some uppity people selling crap in some of these places. 2nd hand toys selling for above $30. Umm hello I could buy that for $30 brand new. I love trawling markets but need to find some new ones as the ones I know are now pretty dull.
